Who We Are
Laurel school of mines (LSM) is an educational institute incorporated in 2013 as a specialized professional development and training center for mining with an objective of providing latest worldwide information and training for prospective investors and entrepreneurs that want to leverage on the increasing potential of the mining industry.
Laurel School of Mines (LSM) is the first professional development and training center for mining in Nigeria. We provide step-by-step coaching and mentoring on everything mining, from fact-finding, prospecting, exploration, feasibility studies, through licensing, production and operations.

Our Objectives
Objective – To provide A to Z, step by step mentoring and coaching on mining further from fact finding, prospecting, exploration and feasibility studying through licensing, production and operations.
Aims –
- The development of the gem and jewelry industry by mining, exploring and manufacturing high quality gem and jewelry in Africa.
- Generating employment opportunities for the unemployed idling youth, which is the most valuable resource of the country.
- Invitation of Foreign Direct Investments and subsequently, foreign exchange to the nation through international trading, which is much needed in the country and the region at present.

About the National Innovative Diploma (NID) in Gemology and Gold-Smithing (Jewellery) Technology
The training program at the Laurel School of Mines (LSM) is named as 
National Innovative Diploma (NID) in Gemology and Gold-Smithing (Jewellery) Technology which is designed to reflect a functional philosophy of education, while seeking to achieve academic excellence and promote the furtherance of knowledge.
The NID Gemology and Gold-Smithing (Jewellery) Technology program also seeks to aid “the acquisition of appropriate skills, abilities and competence, both mental and physical as equipment for the individual to live in and contribute to the development of his/her society”.
Goal and Objective of the program – To produce people capable of applying modern techniques in gemology and gold-Smithing (Jewellery) in the production of gold, gemstones, lapidary works, jewellery, flatware and hollowware.
