NID Gemology & Goldsmithing Technology (National Innovation Diploma Certification)

The training program at the Laurel School of Mines (LSM) is named as National Innovative Diploma (NID) in Gemology and Gold-Smithing (Jewellery) Technology which is designed to reflect a functional philosophy of education, while seeking to achieve academic excellence and promote the furtherance of knowledge.

The NID Gemology and Gold-Smithing (Jewellery) Technology program also seeks to aid “the acquisition of appropriate skills, abilities and competence, both mental and physical as equipment for the individual to live in and contribute to the development of his/her society”.

Goal and Objective of the program – To produce people capable of applying modern techniques in gemology and gold-Smithing (Jewellery) in the production of gold, gemstones, lapidary works, jewellery, flatware and hollowware.
